<먹이그물이란 무엇인가?>

먹이사슬은 한 생태계 내의 먹고 먹히는 관계를 보여준다.

하지만 먹고 먹히는 관계는 대부분 간단하지가 않다, 왜냐하면 대부분의 생물은 여러 다양한 것들을 먹거나 그들에게 먹히기 때문이다.

그래서 우리는 흔히 '먹이그물'을 사용하여 한 생태계 내의 모든 종들 간의 관계를 보여준다.

먹이그물은 먹이사슬이 서로 얽혀있는 지도이다.

모든 먹이그물은 생산자에서 시작한다.

그들은 태양 에너지를 사용하여 스스로의 양분을 만드는 식물이다.

이러한 식물들은 소비자라고 하는 동물들에게 먹힌다.

소비자는 다른 생물을 먹는 생물이다.

소비자는 그들이 먹는 음식물의 종류에 따라 세 그룹으로 분류될 수 있다.

초식동물은 초식자이다.

그들은 식물만 먹는다.

토끼, 소, 말이 초식동물이다.

큰 동물도 초식동물이 될 수 있다.

코끼리와 코뿔소도 둘 다 식물만 먹는다.

육식동물은 육식자이다.

그들은 대개 사냥꾼이며 잡아서 먹을 사냥감을 찾아야 한다.

고양이과의 일원들, 개, 늑대, 여우, 다른 날카로운 이빨을 가진 동물들이 모두 육식동물이다.

어떤 동물들은 식물과 동물을 둘 다 먹는다.

그들은 잡식동물이라고 불린다.

인간은 잡식동물이다.

돼지, 곰, 심지어 닭도 그렇다.

모든 먹이사슬과 먹이그물은 박테리아 같은 분해자에서 끝난다.

그들은 죽은 생물을 생산자가 사용할 수 있는 물질로 분해한다.

<What is a Food Web?>

A food chain shows the feeding relationship in an ecosystem.

However, most feeding relationships are not simple because most organisms eat or are eaten by many
different things.

So we often use a "food web" to show the relationship between all of the species in an ecosystem.

A food web is a map that food chain is overlapped in.

All food webs begin with producers.

They are plants that use the sun's energy to make their own food.

These plants are eaten by animals, called consumers.

Consumers are organisms that eat other organisms.

Consumers can be classified into three groups according to the type of food they eat.

Herbivores are plant eaters.

They only eat plant.

Rabbits, cows, horses are herbivores.

Huge animals can be herbivores, too.

Both elephants and rhinoceroses only eat plants.

Carnivores are meat eaters.

They are mostly hunters and must find prey to catch and eat.

The members of the cat family, dogs, wolves, foxes, and other sharp-toothed animals are all carnivores.

Some animals eat both plants and animals.

They are called omnivores.

Humans are omnivores.

So are pigs, bears, and even chickens.

Every food chain and food web ends with decomposers such as bacteria.

They break down dead organisms into substances that producers can use.
